My 2020 Journey … Thanks to YOU!
The pandemic has not been easy for anyone. We all lost something. But even if you are feeling lonely or isolated please know; things will get better. How do I know? You helped me get through my crisis and isolation. And every day, it gets a little bit better.
I arrived in Ottawa last year with nothing but the clothes on my back and my son who will turn one on Christmas Day. My life was in total chaos. I was in crisis. I needed help urgently. Luckily, I was quickly referred to Serenity Renewal for Families and was welcomed with genuine care and sincerity.
Thanks to your financial support, I have been able to take workshops with Serenity Renewal and learn how to cope and navigate the crisis I was in.
Since coming to Ottawa at a time of despair, I have been able to start over. I feel my journey ahead is manageable and potentially bright, thanks to what I’ve been learning at Serenity.
You may not realize this, but you are a special person in my life. With your support and Serenity Renewal for Families, I went from a life in crisis to making progress and finding some stability.
I want to be the best version of myself and continue to progress and grow so I can always be there for my boy, but I can’t do it without your continued support. When I arrived at Serenity Renewal for Families last year, I desperately needed their services. I had completed an in-patient treatment program and was transitioning from a life of chaos fueled by addiction and mental health issues to life in recovery.
It was intimidating. I felt vulnerable. But with the support of Serenity Renewal, I continue to take workshops regularly to maintain my progress.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Serenity Renewal for Families quickly adapted to an online format. Now, I can participate more often from my home. It allows me to be more present for my son. I want to offer a better home life for him, now and in the future. With your support I know a brighter future for us is possible.
I have seen how Serenity Renewal for Families continues to support clients who couldn’t afford to take these workshops without them.
There are countless individuals who are suffering from addiction, either directly or indirectly that bring
them to Serenity Renewal’s doors, but do not have the means to pay for services to better themselves.
Serenity Renewal for Families bridges that gap and does not turn away anyone in need. It is truly a place where healing is possible for everyone.
I don’t know where I would be if Serenity Renewal did not offer online workshops and counselling during the pandemic. I am truly grateful and I know many other clients are as well. Your financial support has made a tremendous difference.
I recently got accepted into Algonquin Colleges’ “Community and Justice Services” diploma program! Woven throughout the program is a commitment to human rights, resiliency and restorative practice. Your monetary gift to Serenity Renewal can help others reach their goals and make progress in their journey to address their addictions.
Serenity Renewal for Families is my “safe place” where I can learn to better myself. I know that I can continue to access their services and they will support me if I cannot afford it – which is so important to me and many others. It is only thanks to your generosity that they can do this.
Thank you for making a gift today, during this pandemic, it is even more important than ever!
Thank you,
Catherine Pepper
